Mark Easton joined the BBC in 1986 as a reporter and since 2004 he has been the Home Editor of BBC News broadcasting in national television, radio and online. His role is to provide expert analysis and broad perspective on the issues and stories affecting modern Britain.
Mark’s blog for the BBC was a finalist at the Prestigious International Online Journalism Awards and winner of the Royal Statistical Society Award for statistical excellence in journalism in 2010. Easton’s first book ‘Britain etc.’ published in 2012, is a collection of 26 essays, exploring Britain's obsessions, prejudices, values and idiosyncrasies.
Before taking up his current post, Mark was Home and Social Affairs Editor at Channel 4 Television and Political Editor at Channel 5 television. He is married with four children and lives in North London.
