This year we will be using a mobile app to provide you with information about today. Check the app for details about interactive experiences, art exhibitions and the speakers’ coffeehouse, speaker bios, food menus, sponsor information as well as a live feed of all our social media content.

Hackney Empire 2 Lobby - Makers - Candy Mechanics
Candy Mechanics creates customised candy using 3D scanning, 3D printing and traditional candy making. Candy Mechanics was created by Sam Part, Ben Redford and a deep love of making ridiculously awesome stuff. Our in house Candy man is Will Leigh, he makes the wonderful creations taste as good as they look. After a six week trial by fire in Selfridges London, we now on a three man mission to make sure the world can eat it’s own face.
Hackney Empire 2 - Makers - Visualise
Visualise are a Virtual Reality production studio, creating world class VR experiences and films. We are a collective of the world’s leading virtual reality filmmakers, photographers, producers, technologists and developers. Combining the craft of traditional storytelling and filmmaking with pioneering technical 360 content production, we deliver incredible VR experiences. Harold Printer Room: 100 Stories
With Hackney Empire’s aim of collecting 100 stories representing the 100 languages spoken in the Borough of Hackney, come and listen to a selection of tales, learn more about the borough’s diverse cultures and be a part of passing on knowledge to a new generation.
Stage 3: Speakers' Coffeehouse
Grab a coffee and talk to our speakers in our contemporary reimagining of a 17th century coffeehouse. History past meets history present. Immersed in this modern coffeehouse and featuring a display of works by Luke Marsh, go more in depth with speakers to propagate ideas worth spreading.
