Caroline Parker is an actress, cabaret performer, stand up comedienne and director, and has built a reputation over her career as the UK’s best signing singer. In 2013 she received an MBE for services to Deaf Drama and Theatre. She has spent the last 30 years acting, performing sign songs, devising, signing, dancing, miming and launching a stand up comedy act. She has performed in theatres, cinemas, streets, shopping centres, cabaret bars, festivals, sports and leisure centres and the Houses of Parliament – and in 2012 at the Opening Ceremony of the Paralympics. She is also a storyteller, director and consultant on productions, and workshop facilitator.Her most recent stage credits include Signs of a Diva (Graeae Theatre), Dick Whittington (Theatre Royal Stratford East), Crazy Jane (Birds of Paradise) and Edmund The Learned Pig (Fittings/KrazyKat/Royal Exchange Manchester). On screen, Caroline was the Cinedeaf Rome III and Clin d’Oeil Reims award winner 2015 for Best Actress in If I Don’t Lose,I’ll Lose. She has performed sign songs at festivals including Glastonbury and WOMAD, and signed I Am What I Am alongside Beverly Knight at the Paralympic Opening Ceremony 2012. Caroline is a member of comedy troupe Abnormally Funny People, who performed at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2015.
